Thunder Thursday presented by Visit Long Beach will be back on April 16th from 6-10:30PM at The Pike Outlets! Bring the whole family to enjoy a FREE action-packed night beginning with Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach race car display. Thunder Thursday kicks off the Grand Prix weekend with endless activities, racing, live music, cars, bikes and everything you could want!
Motorcross Trick Show
The fan-favorite motorcross trick show is back! Grab a beer and go cheer in the grandstands during the FreestyleMX freestyle motorcross demonstrations Shoreline! Shows take place at 6:30PM and 7:45PM!
Pit Stop Competition
NTT IndyCar Series Pit crews compete on Shoreline Drive in our pit stop competition vying for a chance to win $10,000! Watch and cheer on your favorite team from the grand stands and see who walks away with the big check this year!
Race Car Display
This is the closest you can get to the cars, drivers and crews all Grand Prix weekend. Starting at 6PM Race cars will be loaded onto Bay Street to be on display all night for photos. Experience the sights and sounds of Grand Prix!
Drift Car Display
Drift Cars will be on display on Bay Street. Get up close and personal to the cars you see drifting on the track!
Character Cars
Character cars BACK! Sally Carrera, Mystery Machine and more are rolling into The Pike for Thunder Thursday. Who will you see this year?
Classic Car Show
Are you more of a classic car connoisseur? Luckily for you -- Thunder Thursday has those too! More than 15 classic cars line the street on The Paseo over by Starbucks and Five Below. We have the cars you want to see!
Driver Autographs
Get your favorite drivers autographs during our driver signature hour. Times to be announced!
All Female Motorcycle Display
Iron Goddesses will take over half of Bay Street displaying their motorcycles. We are excited to welcome Iron Goddesses back for their third year with us at Thunder Thursday!
Live Performances on Stage in Main Plaza
Local bands will take over the stage and rock the house during ThunderThursday!
This year we will have performances by Manuel the Band, a Long Beach, California-based indie rock band known for blending rock, pop, and blues into a soulful, danceable sound. Rooted in the songwriting of frontman Manuel Grajeda, they have become a staple of the Southern California music scene with their eclectic style.
As well as The Ashe Brothers, a dynamic rock band that blends psychedelic textures, vintage soul, and boutique guitar sounds. They've been known to have electrifying live shows and tight musicianship.
We are excited to have bands local to Long Beach performing during Thunder Thursday.
Beer Garden
Grab a beer in the Auld Dubliner beer garden and take it into the grand stands and watch the motorcross trick show or the pit stop competition! This drink has wheels!
